China Renji's Prospects
In
China, 99% of the 18,500 established general hospitals are state
owned. Having said that, hospitals are becoming increasingly independent
from the state. Instead of completely funding hospitals, the government
now only provides for basic salaries and certain capital investment.
Since the 1980’s government funding has fallen from 80% to 44%.
This means that there is more pressure on hospitals to create revenue
to fund research, new technology and new equipment. China Renji
hopes to counteract this problem through our leasing program. When
our equipment is leased to hospitals, we are at the same time providing
them with our management expertise. Upfront costs and risk are further
avoided through our profit sharing contract.
Our core business consists of
the three following components:
-
- - Health check services
including diagnostic and consultancy services;
- - Cancer treatment services
using Gamma system technologies;
- - and the leasing of
medical equipment to hospitals.
The three components of our
company’s core business are designed to create a synergistic effect.
Our health check centres provide consultation to our hospitals and
refer additional patients to our treatment centres. The cancer treatment
centres in turn refer their patients to the health check centres
for follow up. |
